This unassuming little spot in the Broadway Corridor is sneaky serving the best coffee house pastries in Long Beach. The pastry chef in onsite, making your espresso drinks too!
Try the blueberry creamcheese danish. The ooey-gooey topping to the perfectly crafted pastry dough will awaken your tastebuds.
I'm so glad I discovered this little neighborhood goody shop! -

Love this place. When you step inside, the cafe immediately gives you feeling of being in a sweet, community based neighborhood; which is exactly what Long Beach is. They fit in perfectly with the culture, not to mention the coffee is delicious. The owners are always there and are super friendly. Last time I was in he mentioned the coffee beans he chooses are lower in acidity so it's easier on the stomach, another cup please!!!
The lavender or rose latte with oat milk are my favorites. They aren't too sweet or overpowering. My husband doesn't usually like flavored lattes but LOVED them both.
The croissants and quiches are great. Have yet to try the ice cream. -

Well if the Fire House Kitchen isn't the quaintest cafe I ever did see. I brought one of my bikes in next door for a little repair and stepped out to look for something refreshing on this hot summer day.
I never noticed this cafe before, but maybe that's because they just opened a few months ago.
I saw "Homemade Ice Cream" and was sold!
For such a cozy kitchen, they offer a variety of specialty espresso drinks, teas, coffee, freshly baked pastries, and meals for breakfast and lunch (full menu coming soon).
They had some of our favorite, classic ice cream flavors such as cookies & cream, mint & chip, butter pecan along with the essential vanilla bean, chocolate and strawberry.
I opted for the espresso chips to go with my Affogato. Plenty of espresso chips in my scoop and it went perfectly with the shot, of course!
The only downside to this charming cafe is the limited seating. There were only a few tables outside and a tiny bar counter inside for about 1-2 people.
If they plan on having a full menu for breakfast and lunch, they may need to consider expanding! -

Cute new coffee shop serving specialty beverages, house-made French pastries, and ice cream. The place is tiny and easy to miss, but keep an eye out for the shabby chic red and white decor. Hand written signs, homey DIY vibes, and charming original mid century details. Seating is limited to two barstools inside, and a few small tables outside. I got an Iced Americano with oat milk, which was perfectly made.
The Butter Croissant was very good, and had come out of the oven just before I arrived. It was flaky and savory, with with a delicately crunchy exterior. The Lemon Blueberry Scone was even better, with the perfect soft, sweet crumble that is often difficult for bakers to achieve. It was full of juicy blueberries and enrobed in fresh lemon icing. Do not hesitate to try any of the baked goods here. The man working (who I believe is the owner/baker), was kind and warm. Highly recommended.
